[00:17:30] S0: to do better going forward? I don't know if [00:17:33] S1: I can speak to you, but for me, it's about really limiting social media time. And that is, like, we know that we have to post things whenever we wanna rep... Reply to comments, especially now. But, like, really just limiting those so we're not glued to a screen and just how can you stay as focused towards what you need, like your operational mission basically. And and then just good habits. It's an operational mission. I mean, like, you have a calendar in a week about all these things that you set that are extremely important Yeah. And just stick to that. Yeah. Like, don't, like, get sucked into arguments and all these things. Like, that is the worst thing that we can do. [00:18:08] S0: The first part of our business is fundamentally creative business. Right? How do you kind of consider we can get better between swap... Swapping between operator mode and creative mode? [00:18:21] S1: I think the only answer is delineating days. I think we're starting to do that a little bit more where we'll have like certain sales days, meetings days, and then days that are just more creative. Yeah. I think that's the biggest thing. Yeah. It's really important. What do

[00:18:33] S0: you think? I think it's putting in state changes when necessary. I like we do a sauna, you know, the... Our sauna's working finally in our office, which is very exciting. We do a sauna and then do a creative time after or like for me, I know that I'm like, my deep work time is after I have a coffee in the morning, like I feel really, really good for like two to three hours and then maybe do more operational stuff in the afternoon. I think the complexity of what we're going through right now in terms of like that deep work is because we're now a team of six people. And me and you have never managed a team before, and we want to be best in class at it. So we're putting a lot of focus on it. We're putting a lot of focus on our onboarding, putting a lot of focus in making sure Kindle is the best place to work, has the best talent, and has that kind of balance between, you know, being an enjoyable place to work, but one that pushes its employees very hard and one that kind of has this culture of excellence and has this culture of whoever is kindling alumni in the future will go on and do big things. Yeah. Like every single person we've hired, we generally think will do big things. And every single person we've hired, we've told them that we want you to be managing 10 people in the next, you know, eighteen to twenty four months. Right? Because we want you to grow with us. And when you have that kind of culture and expectation on your employees, hiring becomes harder because you're a lot more selective, but then you actually want to spend a lot more time making sure they're comfortable and really be available for them, and that doesn't coincide well with deep work. Right? And I put out this tweet to founders, I'm like, how do you guys do this? And everyone said when you get a team, you literally just have to deep work on like late nights, early mornings, or weekends. Yeah. And that's kind of the reality of it. So it's like protecting that focus time more and more is super important. In terms of like things that we can do better, I also... Like, I agree with that focus time, keeping up habits, getting better operation structures, which we're talking a lot about. I think just moving faster and setting bigger goals. Like, I don't know. I already think we're gonna hit our goals this quarter pretty easily. And it's like, how can we move faster?

How can we become, like, not just leaders in Australia, but leaders in the world for what we're doing? And there's just, like, no reason not to. Like, the first part of what we're building as a media company, is, you know, the distribution mechanism for these bigger companies. People like Elon Musk built SpaceX. We can build a fucking good media company if these people did that. Yeah. That's been like a really interesting insight, Wes, when you've got, like, good friends that are

[00:20:48] S1: great founders, they'll constantly push you and they'll be like, why can't you do this faster? Yeah. When you set your goals bigger, and then you question yourself and you're like, hey, I really can. Like, I really believe in this idea of, like, you'll... Like, the the big... You sort of set your goals, you're sort of just gonna meet those expectations. Right? Yep. If you set, like, a goal that's five out of 10 difficulty, you're gonna set that. You set it that's 10 out of 10, Well, maybe you won't get there, but you might land, like, close there, you know? Yeah. Like, shoot the stars, reach the moon, whatever that saying is. And I think that's something where we can almost evaluate every day, like, are we moving quick enough? Can we can we think bigger? Until point before, the... About managing team being fulfilling, 100%. Seeing people produce great work under you is such a good feeling. Seeing people learn and grow under you and around you is such a good feeling. And seeing people feel bought into your team and culture is just the best feeling. Yeah. Our first employee, John, how... Like, he considers his mission very much his own, which is amazing. We want to bring him more into that as much as possible. Yeah. And that's a beautiful feeling because you're growing and learning on Tommy Tiggo. We had

[00:21:55] S0: a moment like last week or the week before where we were like, we've genuinely hired someone world class. I don't know if it was, you know, completely on us. Like, I think it was a bit of an accident as well that we found someone this good. And it's like, how can we use this... How can we make this time with us like exponential for his life? Like, we want John to be paid like a world class wage in the future. We want him to have equity in us. We want him to like do amazing things. And I think that's like a superpower we have where it's like our culture doesn't feel like hierarchical at all. It literally just feels like we're all on the same level. Cause we're not that old. Right? It's like we don't have these, I don't know, learned hierarchies that you get when you've been working for ten, fifteen years about the way things should be done. We've like both been exposed to a variety of cultures. We've taken things from them. We've also tried to, like, from first principles, invent what is the culture we want to work in, and what is the culture we think will do the best work? And not many organizations get a chance to actually do that. So that's exciting. Yeah. But the... I think the thing that's, like, contrasting with moving really fast is that, like, media takes time. And it's like we had these expectations, honestly, like, you can't release a podcast episode every day. We... There's a lot of things that are coming and that will be released by the time this episode is out, but it's like, you know, these things take time to build. No one has been an overnight success in media. So it's like, although we want to move really fast, we also recognize that it will take maybe three years to get there, but we also recognize we need to get revenue for the bigger business before that. So there's like these contrasting timelines that we have to work through and maybe like innovate around makes it exciting. And I think we both feel that we're moving into this new kind of this new realm of intensity.

[00:23:35] S1: Yeah. Yeah. And the team's growing. Like, we've just made our second hire. A lovely woman in The Philippines. We've got a new intern, Anastasia joining us, just has an extraordinary mind. Yuri's coming back from The States and, like, all these incredible people around us. And that's, yeah, that's when you start to feel really fulfilled. [00:23:51] S0: Yeah. It's been a good launch week. Anything that you wanna do more of in your life holistically rather than just work wise? I was thinking about this yesterday, like I don't feel like my soul has been like taken care of. Like I was reading some New York articles and stuff, I was like, everything we do seven days a week is like towards a goal. And I want to try to do things that are just for the sake of themselves. But you're still relatively balanced. Like, you go to salsa during the week. [00:24:21] S1: Yeah. You have a girlfriend. Yeah. You exercise. You're you're good with family time. Yeah. Still relatively balanced. Yeah. Do you do you feel like that? Yeah. No.
