Sachin and Adam

[00:06:59] S0: Yeah. And taking it back, like, a little step, like, we weren't trying to be Tim Ferriss or Joe Rogan. Like, we maybe talked about a diverse set of subjects, but it was literally just like, I sort of feel like we were lost and we were trying to find our way in the world. Yeah. Like, we're interested in business, wanted to do something socially impactful, and we didn't know what it meant. And this was, like, our vehicle to be curious and to talk to people that had already done stuff. And so we're getting, like, sometimes, like, a thousand views, sometimes a few thousand views to go back to it. Was very, very tiny. But it was literally just our vehicle to discover the [00:07:29] S1: world and be curious. Yeah. And we, you know, we kept go... Ongoing with it even when, like, views were quite low. I think the big big break for us was getting Malcolm Turnbull on, who is a former prime minister of Australia. And some of those TikToks on that went to millions of people. And I think that's... For me, it's like, personally, when I first started to consider, hey, this is actually something that could go somewhere, but I never thought about it as a potential career. I never really thought about something that would go full time in anytime soon. Now this isn't a normal podcast advertisement because we're lucky enough to partner up with one of our favorite companies in the Australian ecosystem, Kinde.

[00:08:06] S0: We actually had Ross from Kinde come on our podcast a few years ago, and we're blown away by his vision for wanting to help enterprise businesses get started and scale quicker. [00:08:16] S1: Kinde is taking the auth world by storm, and CEOs that have come on our podcast have outlined that privacy and data security is one of the biggest threats to their business. But there's a problem. Auth is stuck in 2010. It feels clunky, the UI isn't very nice, and Kinde has come along to change this problem.

But there's a problem. Auth is stuck in 2010. It feels clunky, the UI isn't very nice, and Kinde has come along to change this problem. [00:08:36] S0: Kinde offers a seamless and integrated solution. This means you can focus on your core competencies as a founder and not worry about the stuff to the side like authentication. Kinde can do that for you. Right now, enterprises switching to Kinde can get six months free and complete migration support. In fact, if you're below 10,500 monthly active users, it will be completely free. [00:08:57] S1: And don't just take it from us. You'll be joining 25,000 plus developers from the best companies in Australia and the world, including Atlassian, Figma, and Ripley.

[00:09:07] S0: So join the kind bandwagon and get started today. Now back to the episode. Yeah. And so I think that was maybe, like, the big break. Yeah. Like, that was, like, the first one that became sort of popular. You know, some of the podcasts got fair few listens, and some of the clips got, like, quite a lot of listens, millions of listens, whatever. And it was just like first, wow. But then I think after that, we also had a big shift. Well, during that, had a big shift where it went from being generalist business like to, like, technology and venture capital. Because as you mentioned, we had on that Adam Milgram episode, and this is a guy who runs an impact investment fund. So he's based in Giant Leap Fund in Melbourne, and they run they run like a 30 mil fund, I think, at the time, investing in socially impactful startups. And at the time, Sachin and I were like, we love business, started to like investing, wanted to do something socially impactful, and we used to sort of wanna go work for the UN, but then there were so many, like, problems and complications with, like, working for government and those sort of organizations. So we wanted to go the more for profit route. And we heard about his life, and it was like, wow. We could dedicate our whole life to that. And so we started to go

[00:10:12] S1: down this rabbit hole, again, just continuing that curiosity, and that led us to talking to other tech impact investors, just regular venture capitalists, founders, and we're like, oh, yeah. This is cool. And then that was, like, that sort of our niche. Yeah. And, again, like, the content reflects where you are in your life. And I think shortly after that, I started working in venture capital. The podcast was a big reason kind of I made that breakthrough after interviewing John Henderson. And I think that's also when you were starting to think about a career in venture capital. And if you if you asked us two years ago what would be for the next ten to fifteen years, I [00:10:49] S0: think we would both have said venture capitalists. And I think this starts to portray the steps of, like, where we are here today. Yeah. So you ended up working at Airtree. Like, you met John through the podcast. Yep. Awesome dude. Super smart. And then I started my grad career at Deloitte in consulting. You also started in Deloitte, but you were a year ahead of me. And I was like, I thought consulting was the thing I wanted to do. And I think it's a really great starting job for, like, meeting people in different industries, but I didn't feel that deeply or personally aligned to it. And for me, it was about, like, I felt like venture capital working in startups was the thing. And so I was like, you're already there. I was starting to try and shift to there. But I think, like,

But I think, like, [00:11:28] S1: if you looked at how we're spending our time, maybe for the last four or five years outside of work, it's always been talking to people in tech. It's always been reading, you know, newsletters of tech. Our podcast consumption has always been about people with tech. [00:11:39] S0: We also started angel investing. We started, like, a mini fund a few years ago with a friend to do to invest in tech companies. Like, yeah, literally everything we're reading and listening to was about tech.
