[01:09:18] S1: I'd say communication. You can't figure out how to communicate, I mean, even if you're not in business, at your own house. Not harbor anger or resentment. Just talk through the problems, not see them as problems, not bad or good. Just look for the solutions and moving forward. Keep a positive outlook and attitude. Communication is really the key to everything. So... [01:09:41] S0: I was reading an article the other day and said, you know, that old cliche never go to bed angry? Mhmm. Is this like, sometimes I'm just angry and I'm gonna go to bed. I'm not gonna deal with it. It's midnight. It's just like, you know, sometimes like, I don't wanna talk about it tonight. Like, let's just like, let's sit on it and then we'll figure out like, gotta... So guys, I think, need to collect their feelings. Sometimes we don't even wanna go into our internals. Oh, yeah. I mean, I'm so used to just putting a band aid on and covering it up and building a wall. I think that's what guys do in general. And I think women are like, well, with that rate they want to talk about everything. I think there's got to be, you know, I think it's like there's a lot of shows in my past that remind me of this. But it's definitely like one of those things where there's gotta you gotta meet in the middle.

So we we sit outside in our porch. We open a bottle of wine, and we just dream and talk about all the... You know, me being a visionary, all the big visions I'm having, and she talks about the vision she's having and we just talk about where we're heading to and how great life is.

[01:10:42] S1: Well, we also celebrate the wins and, you know, great gratitude. Like, we're grateful every single day. Like, the reason I'm happy and fulfilled is because I'm grateful for everything that I have. I was also... Ten years ago, before we had any of this, I was also grateful and fulfilled because I have my best friend, my partner in life, and we have two healthy kids. And that's what I wanted out of life and to build anything on that... Anything beyond that is a cherry on top. So I can keep going. I mean, we can build as much as we want. It's fun. Like, right? Like, this is great. So, you know, I think gratitude is a huge part of it too. We're just grateful and thankful for where we are, where we came from, how we got here and where we're going.

[01:11:18] S0: That's great. I think gratitude's missing these days. I know a buddy of mine has one of the largest sales. I'm not gonna say his name, but he's massive in sales organizations and some of the guys are making a ridiculous amount of money. And when you're making a million and $0.5 a year as a sales rep, you're driving in with a Ferrari and you're constantly upset that you don't have more and more and more. So he started talking about every morning they had to talk about the things that they came from, the gratitude statements, journaling. [01:11:48] S1: Right.
01:11:48 · Becca Erdmann, Tommy Mello
[01:11:48] S1: Right. [01:11:48] S0: And it really changed the environment because like, wait a minute, when you came here, you were living in a tiny apartment and you had a 500 credit score and we worked together and we're both grateful to have each other in each other's life. But this idea of gratitude and then... Have you ever heard of Robert Cialdini? Mm-mm. No. He wrote the book Influence and Persuasion. The best writer on the planet. And he's an ASU professor. He's long since retired. He's a buddy. But he talks about commitment. So, you know, if I were to say, Becca, you're... Are you a woman that keeps your word? [01:12:24] S1: A thousand percent. [01:12:25] S0: So when you say to me that you're gonna do this and we're gonna do this, you're gonna make sure that we do it right. And we're gonna write that down. And we're gonna plaster it all over the place of what you committed to so that everybody sees it. Yeah. And now you feel this, like, don't wanna let my team down. But there's people like you that say, I'm gonna do it. Don't need to write. I don't need to tell anybody. I'm gonna do it for myself. There's other people that are like, if they... That's why they say when you'd say, I'm gonna quit smoking. If you just tell yourself that, you're like, well [01:12:54] S1: Yeah. Who do I tell?
01:12:54 · Becca Erdmann, Tommy Mello, Kyle Erdmann
[01:12:54] S1: Yeah. Who do I tell? [01:12:55] S0: No one's But if you sit yell from the rooftop and have accountability Mhmm. And admit that it's a problem and the whole thing. So I'll tell you guys some books here after this, but but I got another good one for you. What's one piece of advice for every home service operator whether they work with their spouse or not? [01:13:15] S2: Oh, boy. [01:13:16] S1: I would say open your mind and dream bigger and think bigger. I think a lot of people are in a box and they think things should be a certain way and they have a difficulty imagining bigger and better. But even if your goal is $10,000,000 dream about and think about $20,000,000 and think bigger, and you'll start taking actions more towards the $20,000,000 kind of person or what kind of person do have to be to have a $20,000,000 company, What type of actions do you have to take or things to eliminate to get to be that? You'll think differently if you think bigger. So I wish I wish somebody would have taught me in my twenties to think bigger. That would have been very helpful. Now, I'm mid thirties, so I've, learned a lot now, but now I'm thinking bigger and dreaming bigger. And the bigger you dream and think, the higher your goals get and the more you attract and the more you really get out of life, I think. [01:14:10] S2: And I would say get out of your own way. I think that everybody is so focused on trying to be a trailblazer and pioneer and invent a new way of doing it when realistically the playbook's written.
