[00:57:09] S0: And doesn't seem to be something that he pushed back on. [00:57:14] S1: Yeah. Big questions about short selling. And he makes the case that short selling is good because it creates a financial incentive to expose companies that lie and engage in fraud. I think I agree with that. I think I'm pro short sellers. Although, of course, they can be very frustrating if you're on the other side and you're being shorted. Fortunately, TBPN is a privately held company, so we don't have to deal with short attacks. At least not now, but [00:57:43] S0: who knows? With that, let's bring in our Washington correspondent, Zak Kukoff. Zach. [00:57:49] S1: How you doing? What was [00:57:50] S0: your reaction what was your reaction to Trevor Milton going on on Tuck? Tuck Radio. [00:57:57] S5: I just think terrible choice of, network to go on first. The clear answer was TBPN. [00:58:02] S1: I I don't know if I'm ready. I I don't know. It's a tough [00:58:06] S0: We just come we'd come with a fact sheet of just fact by fact and say, did you roll the truck down the hill? [00:58:12] S5: You tell him you wouldn't have coddled him the way that soccer did? [00:58:16] S1: I don't know. [00:58:17] S0: I don't know. When we had Soham Parekh on people [00:58:19] S1: People were saying we went [00:58:20] S0: we went too easy. But clearly, we got him to just admit to having multiple jobs immediately. The question

[00:58:20] S0: we went too easy. But clearly, we got him to just admit to having multiple jobs immediately. The question [00:58:28] S1: was was are you working multiple jobs? That was my first question. He just said yes. And then, you know, from there it's like, okay, he's admitted it. Like, let's talk about redemption. Was there a possibility? [00:58:36] S5: What else did people want him to admit? Like five other made up things he hadn't done? [00:58:40] S0: Think I think the critique that was fair was that he's clearly a pathological liar and Yeah. Fairly charismatic. And we probably just should have said, hey. Seems like you're still lying. But at the same time, we gotta check-in with the company he just joined. He said he's going what did he say? He said he's going [00:59:01] S1: Exclusive. Exclusive. Exclusive. [00:59:03] S6: Exclusive is [00:59:03] S0: the term. I'm going exclusive. [00:59:05] S1: I'm going exclusive. Just one job now. I don't know. I I still wanna believe in redemption. Not many people believe in redemption. That's where it was interesting. But yeah. I mean, like like the the I suppose that if I was interviewing Trevor Milton, the first question would be, did you roll the truck down the hill and did you did you actually do that? Because that is the fraud claim mainly. And if if it's like, okay. Yeah. I did that. I made a mistake. Now I'm on the redemption path as opposed to, you know, like, you know, waffling around it. [00:59:35] S5: As opposed to, no. I didn't roll it downhill. The truck was just built that way. And the hill was just

[00:59:35] S5: As opposed to, no. I didn't roll it downhill. The truck was just built that way. And the hill was just [00:59:39] S0: built that way. I mean, has been a big we gotta call out. This has been a big week for podcasting. You have Sam Altman on [00:59:44] S1: Theo Von. [00:59:44] S0: Theo Von. You have Netanyahu on the Nelk Boys. And you have Trevor Milton on Tucker Carlson. I mean, what a week. What a week. But And Zak Kukoff on TV. [00:59:56] S5: 4 figures of equal stature. Correct. [00:59:58] S0: Thank you very much. [00:59:59] S1: I think I think higher stature than some of these. [01:00:02] S5: Well, higher than some lower than [01:00:04] S6: others. Correct. [01:00:05] S0: Exactly. What's going on in your world? How was yesterday? It looked Good to it down. [01:00:08] S1: Like [01:00:08] S0: total total also total podcast victory. [01:00:12] S1: Total podcast victory for sure. [01:00:13] S5: Yeah. I think, somebody said All In is now state media, which I loved. I was like, yesterday literally was total podcast dominance Yeah. Which was wild. It was very well done. Major props to frequent TPPN guest, Dalian, who did an amazing job. I think, you they pulled the whole thing together in, yeah. Christian and Dalian. Yeah. They put the whole thing together in, like, ten days. You guys noticed? The whole thing came from nothing. [01:00:38] S1: Yeah. Yeah. They're [01:00:39] S5: they're Ten days. [01:00:39] S0: When you get a twenty minute block on the president's schedule, you gotta move quick. [01:00:43] S5: Yep. That is exactly exactly true. So

[01:00:43] S5: Yep. That is exactly exactly true. So [01:00:46] S1: I started Hill and Valley a couple years ago just as a dinner, but now there's, like, enough of an organization. I think it is, like, a company at this point that's doing these events, they have a playbook. And they every time they execute, it's better than the last one. So really [01:00:58] S5: My understanding is they have, like, 30 something people who help put these things together. It's a serious it's a real operation that really staffs it up. [01:01:05] S1: Where was it? [01:01:06] S5: It was at the Mellon Auditorium, which funnily enough is, next door or maybe even part of the environmental Protection Agency, the EPA. So it's a nice it was very funny because I would not say it was a particularly environmentally focused group in the audience, but beautiful space nonetheless. Honestly, a highlight of the day for me and probably for everybody there, a very funny, very well done POTUS speech. End of the day keynote, real red meat for us and for tech on a lot of the key questions on AI development. Also, lot of very funny, crowd work, like, really talented crowd work bits on Jensen and on Doug Burgum. I was like, wow. It's gonna be a really talented Netflix special. This all gets packaged up. [01:01:50] S0: And and did he have a did he have did did Trump have a good line on Jason too? Or I couldn't tell if that was fake news or No. Or it was

[01:01:50] S0: And and did he have a did he have did did Trump have a good line on Jason too? Or I couldn't tell if that was fake news or No. Or it was [01:01:58] S5: It was it was real. Trump gets up. First thing he says is, thanks to the All In podcast, Chamath and David, and, yes, even Jason. And there was a huge pause for laughter, and he goes, yes. We're even thanking Jason today. A lot of Jason Calacanis jokes. I will say one interesting dynamic after thing that I don't know if I don't know if it was streamed online or what wasn't. But one interesting dynamic that I don't know if folks saw, the Jason was doing the voice of the liberal in the in the questioning. He was, like, trying to really put a little bit of the heat on some of the, Trump admin guests, and it was an interesting departure from everybody else who was asking questions. [01:02:34] S0: That's good. That's valuable. People will find a way to hate that, but it's good. [01:02:38] S5: Yeah. No. It's good to get the diversity of voices. I will say clearly some people that I don't think necessarily expected it, but, yeah, it was good to get the, the diversity of voices [01:02:45] S1: That's fun. [01:02:46] S5: Out there. [01:02:47] S1: Yeah. Yeah. [01:02:47] S0: Okay. What was the best line though? The best the best line to me was somebody asked Jensen to talk about America's AI advantage and he said, the one thing that no other country has is president Trump. [01:03:02] S5: That's right. That's why Jensen gets to that's why Jensen gets to export age twenties because he's had good lines like that.
