[00:00:00] S0: Where the world is heading is that we're obviously in a world where there's gonna be increasing amounts of content by humans, but also by AI. And there's a lot of noise, and there's a lot of low quality things. [00:00:10] S1: So then I think there's a lot of people that will think they have taste, release something into the world, [00:00:14] S0: and nothing happens. Yeah. Anyone can put their ideas out there. But it also just means there's a lot of trash as well. And so does the world need more trash, or does the world need more high quality things that are really, really soulful, authentic, and can actually change people? Hey, I'm Sachin. And I'm Adam. There'll be a Hindling household. There'll be an intro that will go above all this stuff, but I don't know. I I, like, really enjoy being on the mic now more than I think I ever have. I think it's about having, like, a nice setup, but also having, like, so many thoughts almost to get out each week. Like, I I feel like I look forward to these episodes Yeah. Better than I would have.

Like, it's sort of like a cathartic release where there's so much happening, so much head noise, so many worries, and actually, like, putting them out onto the mic, like, allows you to just be sort of [00:02:08] S1: free again a little bit. Yeah. What's, top of mind for you at the moment?

[00:02:08] S1: free again a little bit. Yeah. What's, top of mind for you at the moment? [00:02:12] S0: Last week was different to other weeks because it was a ramp up in... Of intensity. So we actually made our first hire. We hired a full time video editor from The Philippines, and he's an absolute gun. Cultural fit. He's ambitious, and he's a great editor. But that meant that was a week of onboarding, which is really fun, but it was tiring. And at the same time last week, we started filming. We did two episodes. They went different sort of ways. And I think we started to feel like, okay, we're starting to get a lot on our plate. And I did, like, a big reflection this morning to my elephants accountability group chat. And the thing I reflected on is that prioritization is sort of easy when, like, not everything feels important and, like, that urgent, but now things are starting to be important and urgent. It's like now we're really having to, like... We're even having to put things on the back burner that feel important, and we're having to be like, okay, what do we need to
00:03:05 · Adam
[00:03:05] S1: get done in the next few days? Yeah. I've been feeling that as well. Like yesterday... I think I worked almost all weekend, and yesterday I had this moment where I was like, shit. There's like 15 things on our plate right now that Yeah. Feel urgent, feel important. But I think also, like, my whoop recovery on the weekend was crap. And I also think that when I'm mentally feeling not good, those feels... Those things can feel more overwhelming. Like, now I think about them and like, we can get everything done. And I was almost like, I woke up really excited this morning, Monday morning. Like, actually I wake up a lot more excited on Mondays and I had never had in my whole life to just get to it and get things done. But I think maybe this is a good point to reflect on like learning some hiring. So we had 400 people apply for this job that we put out there. And I think this is our... Both of our first time was running a hiring process. So there was a mixture of thinking about it from first principles of like, Hey, if we were in a hiring process, what would we want to do? But also like trying to get the best practices. Like we've been reading books, we've been watching courses about best practices in hiring. And I found that whole experience really, really great. I think there was a few key takeaways for me. First is that like that classic line of that talent is distributed evenly, but opportunity isn't. We're looking at a lot of people from The Philippines, and we met some phenomenally talented people. And there was like, out of all the people we interviewed, I think there's a lot of them that we could have potentially hired. And it

[00:04:23] S0: was actually very difficult to make that decision in the end. Mhmm. There's this weird trend of thought. It goes around on Twitter a lot where people, like, always bias against hiring overseas because they sort of think it's, like, exploitative, but it's nothing but. Like, maybe there are people that exploit, but, like, we're offering a really good salary that's, like, quite a bit higher than, like, the starting salary for Filipino, typical video editor. So you're not only giving someone in a developing country a really good income, but you're also getting talent, like, really good talent and for a fraction of your price. So it's, like, really a no brainer.
