[00:47:20] S1: So a new infrastructure for the whole scientific method? [00:47:23] S0: Yeah. So, yeah, the turn of phrase that I like is a categorically new level of mastery over chemistry, physics and math. And AI is giving us, I think, it's giving us a profound improvement in our mastery over chemistry, physics and math. It's going beyond the existing density functional theory, coupled cluster, these methods that have been around forever. But I think that if you really want to claim a categorically new level of mastery, you've got to have a quantum computer. [00:48:01] S1: -Well, I think that's a great way to finish up work hard to do this tour. [00:48:05] S3: -Yeah. Thank you so much for the interview. That was pleasure. Such a delight. Was [00:48:08] S0: so inspiring [00:48:09] S3: to speak to people that are is trying to solve the world's hardest problem. [00:48:13] S1: I just wanna go, like, run through a building now and do hard shit, but I don't know what my version of this is, so...

[00:48:13] S1: I just wanna go, like, run through a building now and do hard shit, but I don't know what my version of this is, so... [00:48:19] S0: Yeah. I mean, you just gotta get on and do it. Like, there's just... Why not? Like, you can build this machine. It it can solve problems that we will otherwise never solve. If we don't build the quantum computer in a thousand years, humans will be sitting on some planet somewhere looking at a problem in chemistry or material science or partial differential equations or whatever, and we'll be saying, if only we had a quantum computer, we could solve this extremely valuable or important problem. And that's just an unacceptable outcome to me. Get on and build it. It's not... It's metal, silicon, fiber. Just put it together. And that's generally how we try to operate. [00:48:59] S1: Is that what you tell your engineers? Just sit. [00:49:01] S0: Get on with it. [00:49:02] S3: Yeah. Cool. Why not?
