[01:03:25] S0: One more thing to cover before our first guest. Marissa Mayer was talking with the New York Times and they have an excerpt here. Late last year Marissa Mayer was struggling with what felt like an impossible task. Her daughter, Marielle, was turning 10, and Marielle's teacher wanted three bullet points summarizing what made her special. Marielle, the former chief executive of Yahoo and a pioneer at Google, where she was the first female engineer, likes cracking a hard problem. But she felt overwhelmed by the range and complexity of potential answers, so Mayer asked her personal AI assistant, Dazzle. Within a few seconds, Dazzle delivered an answer. It came back and was like, your daughter is empathetic, creative and an animal lover, Mayer said. She thought it was perfect. So the AI leader pick a story, a personal story that actually resonates challenged, is proving to be one of the [01:04:20] S1: Yeah. Understand. The New York Times does this thing where they will just let someone talk and you can tell that the writer of that story like thought that that was a weird... Believe that the writer of that story thought that that was a weird anecdote, so put it in the lead and then now it's going viral. As soon as I read that I was like, oh, this is like a choice by the... [01:04:41] S0: Struggling with what felt like an impossible task. Yes. [01:04:41] S0: Struggling with what felt like an impossible task. Yes. You know, setting it up as like, you know, you're expecting... [01:04:48] S1: But it does... I mean, it is a real thing where like she's in a very like, you know, CEO mode dealing with these other things and then like sometimes you're like, I don't know what the parents at school... What like... Sometimes like it's hard to describe a kid in the... At the tier of complexity as everyone else. Right? [01:05:08] S0: Braves to steel man this one. [01:05:10] S1: Okay. The other thing that I'll steel man is is the fact that I I I think the idea of an AI agent that hangs out in your camera roll and finds opportunities to do things is sort of interesting. Like, the AI, the the camera roll is an interesting source of information and like memory, basically. And especially if you're in the habit of like screenshotting a lot of things. Like, imagine just anything that you do on your phone, like, of being like, okay, I have this link. I want to send this into my AI app of choice. Save it there and then have it take action on this. It's more just like, oh, I'll just take a script David [01:05:47] S0: says you can't steal this... Steal man. [01:05:48] S1: That's John. I can steal man anything. Anyway, let's Let's bring in our seminar... Joey. Describe yourself in three words without using AI challenge. It was impossible from Marissa Mayer. But how are you guys How [01:06:04] S0: would you describe Doug in in three bullet points? Without using AI. You can't use AI.

[01:06:04] S0: would you describe Doug in in three bullet points? Without using AI. You can't use AI. [01:06:10] S8: Without using AI. And feel free to pass because [01:06:12] S1: we know this is an extremely difficult challenge. [01:06:14] S8: Doug is a trendsetter and trend caller. I would say that. And he's probably... He's always in the right place at [01:06:21] S1: the right time. Oh. As [01:06:22] S8: evidenced by by talking [01:06:23] S1: to you today. That's good. About the Anthropic IPO. Yeah. Those are those are those take [01:06:28] S0: me I on like those. Bullets or I don't know if you wanted to [01:06:31] S8: Yeah. Pick those [01:06:32] S7: He's a he's [01:06:32] S8: a handsome guy. I'll I'll give him that too. [01:06:34] S0: Handsome. There you go. [01:06:35] S1: There you go. With a nice [01:06:36] S0: with a fresh cut. Looking good. Looking good. [01:06:39] S1: Okay. Looking good. How long have you had to digest the Anthropic IPO? I guess the big question is like a lot of these facts were leaked because of the Investor Day. What really stands out to you as like new learnings from the S1? [01:06:55] S8: Yeah. I would say most of the information was leaked somewhat before and I think we got some more detail on like per user spend, you know, how big some of the largest customers were. Yeah. Pretty specific details there. [01:07:08] S1: Yeah. [01:07:09] S8: That were, you know, pretty interesting. So happy to dive But into

[01:07:09] S8: That were, you know, pretty interesting. So happy to dive But into [01:07:13] S1: overall, is this a beat? Because it feels like there was like a question. We can get into like the overall health of the AI trade but in general there's like a oh, like, oh, there might be something wrong and it seems like everything was on track. Everything sort of mapped to what was leaked earlier. Things look good across the board. I think [01:07:33] S0: it's like a vibe. It's a vibe speed. That's what I would say. I think people were expecting that there was gonna be like one thing that everyone focused like like the vibes had shifted [01:07:44] S1: The market. [01:07:44] S0: Such a negative way like maybe two or three weeks ago where people are oh yeah, you really want to do a $2,000,000,000,000 IPO While rates are up or Yeah. When you're not, when you're decelerating, like this makes no sense. And now people look at this and they're like, okay, this is like pretty [01:07:59] S1: Incredible business. [01:08:00] S8: Yeah. This was one of probably the best scaling to a trillion dollar plus valuation in the history of capitalism. Yeah. To burn 10,000,000,000 to get to this valuation is insane. To be this level of profitable this early and at this scale [01:08:12] S1: Yeah. [01:08:14] S8: It is, you know, amazing. [01:08:15] S1: Okay. So Doug, incredible capital efficiency. Is this a violation of the AI is similar to the railroad build out concept?

[01:08:15] S1: Okay. So Doug, incredible capital efficiency. Is this a violation of the AI is similar to the railroad build out concept? [01:08:27] S6: Yeah. I think so. I think it is actually an incredible narrative violation for that. Yeah. I think... I mean, it isn't... Let's put it this way. It's profitable. Right? I think the capital efficiency is mostly because they made a lot of money too. Sure. That, I think is the slight narrative violation. But, you know, that's like looking backwards. I definitely think looking forwards, you see several $100,000,000,000 compute and I would say that that's still really in line with the railroad analogy. [01:08:53] S1: So Sure. [01:08:54] S6: I think the the railroads are still... There's still railroads, baby. [01:08:57] S0: But No. But but it's like it's like you have like a company that is spending on railroad services. But it's Yes. But it's like this company is not... At least right now, doesn't look like that a manufacturer... Like, they're not laying the track. It's like...

[01:08:57] S0: But No. But but it's like it's like you have like a company that is spending on railroad services. But it's Yes. But it's like this company is not... At least right now, doesn't look like that a manufacturer... Like, they're not laying the track. It's like... [01:09:10] S6: Yeah. They're not laying the track. And like... So so pretty much the OG, I guess, the steel companies were were... If we're gonna be using railroad analogies, the steel companies, you know, all got invented essentially to make railroad tracks. So I think that that's kind of the... Maybe that's the analogy we're looking for, but I don't know. I think it's really clean. There's no other way to put it. Like, this was an extremely clean beat. Like, you don't really have a much to nit nitpick, but I think maybe the concern is, like, a lot of people have been talking about, like, lowered expectations in q four. Mhmm. They didn't put the September ARR, right, because everyone knows that was like a total debacle. But they obviously have an an open spot for the October ARR and and they wouldn't have it open if they didn't think it was good.
