Acorns acquires Fritch, a Gen Z social finance platform founded in 2021 with 1.6m young adults in its community, and plans to shut it down.
Bittner sees the Fritch deal as a growth play to acquire customers earlier, while Gill suggests the real value may be Fritch's user data.
Gill says large companies still run investigations on Jira, Slack and spreadsheets, which is why Confide's agentic governance platform puts governance, risk and compliance into one system.

Guest interviews
Pav Gill, Founder and CEO of Confide. Confide launched an agentic governance platform that puts case management, policies, risk and audits in one system, with an audit trail for every human and AI agent action. Gill says data fragmentation drives governance failures, because large companies still run investigations on Jira, Slack and spreadsheets. He predicts billions of AI agents will run companies alongside humans, and warns that risk rises for the staff who remain as junior work is automated.
Vijay Konduru, Head of Business Innovation and AI Products at Huntington National Bank. Huntington launched 1866 Studio with Google Cloud, an AI operating system for small businesses built on Gemini Enterprise. Konduru says around 82% of small businesses have no payroll or paid employees, and the agents will guide owners through registration, licensing and business plans. Access opens in a few weeks, and he insists humans stay in the loop because agentic AI is probabilistic.
Maia Bittner, Chief Product Officer at Imprint. Bittner says AI suits manual investigation work but not strategic risk trade-offs, and that systems can hallucinate. She reads the Fritch deal as a growth play to win customers earlier, says Acorns has made almost nine acquisitions and is shutting Fritch down, and thinks Fritch's data may be its most valuable asset. She often prefers chatbots to scripted phone support.
